Roy’s Hot-Dog
2026
Painting
53 × 45 cm
With « Roy’s Hot-Dog », Geoffrey Bouillot extends his exploration of the imagination of American pop culture through a everyday object transformed into a contemporary icon. Made in acrylic paint, the work transforms the hot-dog motif into a composition structured by geometric volumes and rhythmic planes, characteristic of its plastic language.
The work is part of a dialogue with «Andy’s Burger», forming a diptych dedicated to the major figures of pop art, notably Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol. Through this pairing, Bouillot questions the transformation of consumer objects into iconic images and the way each artist shaped an aesthetic specific to popular culture.
As the artist explains: «These two canvases directly reference Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, two great artists of pop culture that I admire. I conceived them together, so that they would correspond as a diptych. While sharing the same popular imagery, each painting seeks to translate the distinct personalities of Warhol and Lichtenstein.»
