Andy’s Burger
2026
Painting
53 × 45 cm
With «Andy’s Burger,» Geoffrey Bouillot revisits the imagination of American pop culture through a everyday object transformed into a contemporary icon. Created in acrylic paint, the work transforms the burger motif into a composition structured by geometric volumes and rhythmically spaced planes, characteristic of its plastic language.
The whole work dialogues with « Roy’s Hot-Dog », the other work of the diptych dedicated to Roy Lichtenstein, thus forming a pair thought about the major figures of pop art. In « Andy’s Burger », Bouillot is rather rooted in the universe of Andy Warhol, questioning the transformation of consumer objects into iconic images. As the artist explains: « These two canvases directly refer to Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, two great artists of pop culture that I admire. I conceived them together, so that they would correspond as a diptych. While sharing the same popular imagery, each painting seeks to translate the distinct personalities of Warhol and Lichtenstein.»
