With «Blue Nude III,» Geoffrey Bouillot revisits the tradition of the nude in art history through his characteristic geometric language. Created in acrylic paint, the work breaks down the figure into structured volumes and facets, transforming the body into an almost sculptural construction, between presence and abstraction. The dominant blue brings a dimension that is both cool and contemplative, reinforcing the atmosphere of restraint and modernity. Through this approach, the artist engages in a dialogue with the great masters of the 20th century while offering a contemporary interpretation of the body, based on the simplification of forms and the tension between material and image. As the artist explains: «Matisse is the artist who awakened me to art, and his Blue Nudes series is among my favorite works. The anatomical and fragmented bodies fit together in a very mechanical way, while clearly standing out against the background of metallic chevrons.»
