Foul Ball
This print “Foul Ball” by Andrew Scott is fully in line with the series of "frame experiments," where the image seems to collide directly with its own support. The scene depicts a young boy holding a baseball bat, his gaze raised towards the point of impact, while the glass appears cracked as a result of a ball violently hitting the surface. The fracture effect, rendered with striking realism, transforms the frame into a narrative element in its own right. Andrew Scott thus creates an illusion of movement frozen in time, as if the action had just occurred before the viewer's eyes. This interaction between the subject and the material enhances immersion and gives the work an almost cinematic dimension.
