Urban fragments, torn aesthetics

Under the name Lasveguix, Guillaume Picart explores the layers of the city as one leafs through a palimpsest. Inspired by the Nouveau Réalisme affichistes – foremost among them Jacques Villeglé – he has developed a practice centered on urban posters: torn, ripped, re-glued, reworked posters, where chance becomes an artistic gesture.

He names his works "wall skins," as if they were living fragments torn from the city's epidermis. Each raw, layered composition bears witness to what is written and torn in public spaces. Faded typography, popular imagery, outdated slogans... everything becomes material for visual and poetic recomposition.

His works are born from the tension between chaos and order, between chance and intention. Far from simple collage, he reshapes and gives voice to ephemeral urban stories, capturing what the walls shout, hide, or forget.

Lasveguix doesn't just document the city; he reinterprets it, layer by layer, to reveal what it doesn't always say about itself.
