Ghost Sonic Boom, Mosaïque
Ghost Sonic Boom is part of a series of twenty ghosts created by The Mosaist, each associated with the color of an emblematic character from popular culture. Here, the blue immediately recalls Sonic, while the silhouette resembles the famous ghosts from Pac-Man. I really like this meeting between two video games that have marked different generations.

Each piece is handcrafted by The Mosaist. The artist selects the glass-paste tiles and assembles the tiles one by one to create the ghost. This manual process, combined with the meticulous attention to alignment and finishing, gives each piece its presence and its slight individualities.
The series takes up the familiar silhouette of Pac-Man's ghosts, but each of its twenty colors refers to a different character. In this version, blue immediately evokes Sonic, his speed, and the energy of his universe. The connection is almost instantaneous: we recognize Pac-Man's shape, and then the color takes us to another memory from the video game.
What I particularly like about Ghost Sonic Boom is the dual reading experience. The piece seems simple at first glance, but in fact it combines two very strong references from popular culture. It appeals to both those who grew up with Pac-Man and those who discovered Sonic a few years later.
For 300 euros, we are faced with a true handmade mosaic, signed and numbered by the artist, with very beautiful finishes. The white oak frame and museum glass perfectly enhance the blue of the piece, while the NFC chip allows for additional authentication.
The work can be placed on a piece of furniture or hung on the wall. It works very well on its own, but it also takes on a different dimension when paired with a second color from the series. In fact, many visitors start by choosing a first ghost before returning to find another one.
Ghost Sonic Boom is one of the pieces we sell most regularly at the gallery. It appeals to both young enthusiasts who want to acquire their first work and those already familiar with mosaic art or the world of video games.
For me, this blue version is one of the most obvious and effective in the series. It is bright, playful, instantly recognizable, and perfectly demonstrates how The Mosaist manages to transform a popular memory into a true work of craftsmanship.
