Rue de Cupidon
MifaMosa is the pseudonym of a French urban artist who defines himself as a «street illustrator.» His name combines "Mifa," referencing family—the initial driving force behind his practice, born from works created for his grandmother—and "Mosa," for mosaic, the central medium of his work. He signs each of his interventions with three dots arranged in a triangle, symbolizing his mother, his sister, and himself.
Since 2017, MifaMosa has been repurposing street signs by decorating them with mosaics related to their names, creating a playful and poetic dialogue between urban language and public space. Its first on-site intervention took place on June 28, 2017.
To date, he has created more than 300 plaques in more than twenty cities, mainly in Orléans, where he lives, but also in Montpellier, Blois, Tours, Lyon, Saint-Malo, Limoges, and Lille. While some of his works have been included in tourist recommendations for cities like Avignon, others have sparked debate, such as a mosaic removed in Geneva at the request of the authorities.
