Look Pluto !
2026
Painting
65 × 54 cm
With «Look Pluto!», Geoffrey Bouillot continues his exploration of the world of pop art, drawing inspiration from Roy Lichtenstein's famous «Look Mickey» painting. Created using acrylic paint, the work transforms the figure into a sculptural object constructed from geometric volumes and facets, where the character becomes a structure and form in its own right. Between abstraction and figuration, the composition offers a contemporary interpretation of pop imagery, stripping the icon from its narrative to make it a plastic language.
As the artist explains: «For this series Look!, in six formats, I based myself on the characters from the famous painting Look Mickey by Roy Lichtenstein. I chose to paint their heads as objects, posed in the manner of Brancusi's Venus, entirely adapted to my language.»
