Look Mickey !

Painting
65 × 54 cm
With «Look Mickey!», Geoffrey Bouillot revisits the figure that inspired Roy Lichtenstein's famous painting «Look Mickey». Created in acrylic paint, the work transforms the character into a sculptural object built from geometric volumes and facets, where the figure becomes a structure and form in its own right. Between abstraction and figuration, the composition is a contemporary reinterpretation of pop imagery, where the original icon is detached from its narrative to become a plastic language.
As the artist explains: «For this series Look!, in six formats, I based myself on the characters from the famous painting Look Mickey by Roy Lichtenstein. I chose to paint their heads as objects, posed in the manner of Brancusi's Venus, entirely adapted to my language.»
