Wawapod
Wawapod, by his real name Warren Podguszer, is a French artist born in Paris in 1991. Influenced by Pop Art, Street Art and popular culture, he develops a colorful universe where icons from the history of art, famous portraits and contemporary references meet.
Born into an artistic family with a father who is a painter and a mother who is a stylist, Wawapod grew up surrounded by creativity. After a first professional career as a pharmacy assistant, he gradually devoted himself to painting and developed a unique visual language.
His work is based on a game of perception: at first glance, his works seem to consist of abstract forms, points and lines. When viewed from a distance, the eye gradually reveals portraits, emblematic figures or reinterpretations of major works in the history of art. This dual reading has become a true artistic signature.
Passionate about popular culture and the great masters of painting, Wawapod revisits iconic figures such as La Joconde, Frida Kahlo, Vermeer and even Basquiat, while creating a dialogue between classical art, street culture and modernity.
Through his works, the artist aims to make art more accessible and invite everyone to rediscover the history of art with a new perspective. On the street as well as in galleries, his message «Hello Love Always» accompanies his joyful and positive universe.
