The duo Elisabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti are French decorators and designers; their collaboration began in 1980.

Elisabeth Rochline, wife of painter Gérard Garouste, was born in Paris in 1949 to a family of Russian immigrants. After completing her secondary education, she enrolled at the Camondo school to study interior design. She would specialize in theater set design.

Mattia Bonetti, the child of an Italian father and a French-Swiss mother, was born in Lugano, Switzerland. At the age of 14, he honed his skills at a school of applied arts in Lugano, led by former Bauhaus students. After graduating, he worked in Rome before settling in Paris to create textile patterns while also pursuing photography.

The decoration of the Parisian club «Le Privilège» marks their first four-handed collaboration. This place is the most popular nightclub in Paris. Elisabeth's husband, the painter Gérard Garouste, created a set of decorative panels and therefore called on Dio to design the space. Together, they created a theatrical and magical universe by mixing murals, plaster masks, and plaster-draped columns. The public's enthusiasm was immediate, prompting the Garouste and Bonetti duo to join forces and continue in this direction, breaking the design codes of the time.
