Ceizer
Pieter Ceizer, born in 1982 in Amsterdam, is a Dutch artist and typographer based in Paris. Coming from the skate and graffiti culture, he very early developed a fascination for letters, colors and the power of words.
Typography is at the heart of his work. Through short, positive, poetic messages or sometimes tinged with humor, Ceizer transforms words into true visual compositions. He plays with the shapes of letters, deconstructing them and reinterpreting them to blur the boundary between writing, drawing and abstraction.
His graphic universe, recognizable by its bold colors and precise lines, is presented on many different media: drawings, paintings, and editions, but also wood or metal sculptures, created with a particular attention to form and craftsmanship. His work primarily seeks to convey emotion and positive energy, leaving each person the freedom to interpret the words they discover.
At the crossroads of contemporary art, design and pop culture, Pieter Ceizer has also collaborated with numerous international brands and institutions, including Uniqlo, Nike, Coca-Cola and colette. His work has been featured in the exhibition «Just Phriends», organized by Pharrell Williams, alongside artists such as KAWS, Takashi Murakami and Invader.
Today, Ceizer continues his exploration of the power of words through a visual language that is immediately identifiable, where typography, color, and optimism meet.
