Block 513
French artist Block513 lives between Paris, Brittany, and London. The starting point for his plastic and pictorial work is found through his research around his "Worms" and his mascot «Celtick.» Stemming from Celtic and Scandinavian cultures such as Korrigans, Elves, and Trolls, they form a graphic universe populated by funny and mischievous little characters.
His world is wonderful, simple, and joyful, like a waking dream. Both young and old can find themselves in it with a quirky spirit, capable of de-dramatizing each person's situation. From his small, fantastic, and supernatural beings, the artist offers an original graphic creation. Through his approach and his expression of the line, the rhythm of the line, he codifies a new form of writing. He seeks the boundary between the legible and the illegible, methodically pursuing his work towards abstraction and minimalism. He is particularly drawn to the idea of creating a pictorial language, a fine balance between form, action, and intention.
Game of infinite variations on the art of graffiti with the different movements of Pop Art and the geometry of curves. Block513 enjoys working both outdoors and indoors with murals, canvases, and on objects such as skateboards, sneakers, pottery, jerrycans, etc. Everyday objects that he rehabilitates in sculptural form to make them works of «Sustainable Pop Art».
