Le Louvre revu par JR, 19 juin 2016, 21h23
The work The Louvre Revisited by JR created by artist JR on June 19, 2016, is an intervention at the Louvre in Paris, which aimed to make the pyramid disappear using a surprising anamorphic illusion. At 9:23 PM, he projected a gigantic black and white image of a human eye onto the Louvre Pyramid. This giant projection was part of the series Travel, where JR plays with perceptions and boundaries, merging art and architecture. The artwork questioned the gaze, both of the viewer and of the building itself, while creating a dialogue between classical and contemporary art, with a message of sharing, vision, and humanity.
